I kneeled on the floor, took off my sweater and exposed my fat arms, the ones that I usually hide. Sweaters cover my imperfection, while sleeveless shirts show the world I struggle with weight management.

Ok, we had to just make that clear. My personal shopping list (if I'm ever organized enough to actually make a list) includes some soothing Dr. Teal's. If I'm ever not answering a text or a phone call, it's usually because I'm locked away with Dr. Teal's and some Netflix on my laptop.

Blame My Obsession with RISE on Rio

Don't judge me, but I've pretty much been listening to Katy Perry's Olympic theme song, Rise, since the day it came out. They featured it on the Today Show and I was hooked.

This song made me become a runner. Okay, just a jalker. (Yes, this is the word for walking/jogging...clearly more on the walking side.)

I feel like I can conquer the world.

I can still hear their voices clearly, heckling me with, “No one will ever love you,” “You’ll never amount to anything,” and “You’re going to die alone.”

Everyone knows junior high is brutal and this was no exception. I’m almost 29 years old and those words still haunt me.
